Chimpanzee versus Humans Similarities & DifferencesSince the first days of human view into their beginnings, chimpanzeeshave played a vital role in showing who we were. The chimpanzee, one of thegreat apes, makes it home in the forests of Central and West Africa. Their yearnarms and legs adapt them for living in such regions as lowland jungles andmountainous regions. Humans are classified in the order Primates, and familyHominade. at bottom this family, human beings, our nearest living relatives, theAfrican apes, are also placed. though in some classification standards, apesare placed in the family Pongidae.The be characteristic of Hominids is their great power to walkbipedally, using two feet and walking upright. This edition of movement lead tomany adaptations within the Hominids skeleton. There are remarkable changes in thespinal cord, pelvis bone and legs. The chimpanzee does have the ability to walkupright and does, but it spends most of the time walking on four limbs. I t usesits arms as its front legs and walks on its knuckles. Our brain capacity isabout twice as bad as that of the chimp. Humans have a brain capacity of 1300to 1500 cc, darn the chimps are about 600 - 800 cc. It is though by scientiststhat our brain size grew over time as were evolved into making complex tools andwe became increasingly sophisticated.
